P(a≤X≤b)=P(X≤b)−P(X≤a−1)P(a \leq X \leq b) = P(X \leq b) - P(X \leq a - 1).

Seuil : on cherche le plus petit entier kk tel que P(X≤k)≥αP(X \leq k) \geq \alpha, ou le plus petit nn tel que 1−(1−p)n≥α1 - (1 - p)^n \geq \alpha.

Exemple corrigé

Trouve le plus petit nn tel que 1−0,5n≥0,991 - 0{,}5^n \geq 0{,}99.

0,5n≤0,010{,}5^n \leq 0{,}01
On isole la puissance.
n=7n = 7
0,5⁶ ≈ 0,0156 et 0,5⁷ ≈ 0,0078.

À toi, guidé

À toi : si P(X≤5)=0,9P(X \leq 5) = 0{,}9 et P(X≤2)=0,3P(X \leq 2) = 0{,}3, que vaut P(3≤X≤5)P(3 \leq X \leq 5) ?

0,60{,}6
0,9 − 0,3.

Entraînement ★

  2. XX suit la loi B(5;13)\mathcal{B}\left(5 ; \dfrac{1}{ 3 }\right). Calcule P(X≥1)P(X \geq 1).
  3. XX suit la loi B(5;14)\mathcal{B}\left(5 ; \dfrac{1}{ 4 }\right). Calcule P(X≥1)P(X \geq 1).

Entraînement ★★

  1. Trouve le plus petit entier nn tel que 1−(12)n≥1−11021 - \left(\dfrac{1}{2}\right)^n \geq 1 - \dfrac{1}{10^{ 2 }}.
  2. Trouve le plus petit entier nn tel que 1−(12)n≥1−11031 - \left(\dfrac{1}{2}\right)^n \geq 1 - \dfrac{1}{10^{ 3 }}.
  1. XX suit la loi B(3;12)\mathcal{B}\left(3 ; \dfrac{1}{2}\right). Calcule P(1≤X≤2)P(1 \leq X \leq 2).
  2. XX suit la loi B(5;12)\mathcal{B}\left(5 ; \dfrac{1}{2}\right). Calcule P(1≤X≤4)P(1 \leq X \leq 4).
  1. XX suit la loi B(4;12)\mathcal{B}\left(4 ; \dfrac{1}{2}\right). Calcule P(X=1)P(X = 1).

Bilan

Trois questions pour vérifier que c'est acquis.

  1. XX suit la loi B(6;12)\mathcal{B}\left(6 ; \dfrac{1}{ 2 }\right). Calcule P(X≥1)P(X \geq 1).
  2. XX suit la loi B(5;13)\mathcal{B}\left(5 ; \dfrac{1}{ 3 }\right). Calcule P(X≥1)P(X \geq 1).
  3. XX suit la loi B(5;14)\mathcal{B}\left(5 ; \dfrac{1}{ 4 }\right). Calcule P(X≥1)P(X \geq 1).

Fiche résumé

Seuil et intervalles

  • P(a≤X≤b)=P(X≤b)−P(X≤a−1)P(a \leq X \leq b) = P(X \leq b) - P(X \leq a - 1).
  • « Au moins un » : on passe par le contraire.

Attention : au a−1a - 1.
