Try it now

Learn by doing, not by watching

Every lesson is a series of short steps: discover an idea, see it worked out, then try it yourself with instant feedback. When you slip, the message names the mistake, not just "wrong".

  • Answers checked like a teacher would: 12\tfrac{1}{2}, 0.5 and 50 % all count
  • Hints after a first try, never before
  • Graphs to drag, number lines, tables

Numbers · Grade 8 Question 1 of 4

Which number is irrational?

How it works

Two minutes to start, a few minutes a day

  1. 1

    Tell us your year

Your school system, your class, what you need: keep up, catch up, prepare a test, or strengthen one area.

  2. 2

    Get your week

Today shows the next step and why. A few lessons a week, sized to the time you have.

  3. 3

    Learn, review, print

Short lessons, review that comes back before you forget, and worksheets with answer keys.

By class or by branch

Follow the programme, or work on one area

Follow your class chapter by chapter, or open a branch of maths (fractions, geometry, functions…) across all the years, to fill a gap or go further.

For parents

See what your child understands, in plain words

The parent view shows each chapter's progress and the typical mistakes your child makes, explained without jargon, so you know what to talk about. Add several children on one device, or link their own devices with a free family account.

  • A nickname is enough: no real name, no birth date, no school
  • Invite your child's tutor to follow along, and remove them any time

On paper and offline

Screens when they help, paper when it is better

Research finds that reading longer texts on paper beats screens, and writing by hand helps. So every lesson prints as a clean worksheet with space to write, and each chapter has a booklet, a practice sheet with fresh questions, and a one-page revision sheet.

  • Answer keys on a separate page, only if you want them
  • Save a chapter for offline: lessons work without a connection
  • Install it like an app, on phones, tablets and computers

Tests and exams

Getting ready for a test

Practice sets in the style of each exam, with its length and calculator rules, and a readiness view of the chapters it covers. Original questions, never past papers.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. There is nothing to buy and no premium plan. The lessons are open content (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Does my child need an account?

No. Without an account, progress stays in the browser of that device. A free family account only adds following progress across devices; children never give an email, a real name or a birth date.

Which countries and years?

United States: Grade 6 to Calculus and Statistics. France: 6e to Terminale. Bavaria: Gymnasium, Jahrgangsstufe 5 to 13. Each follows its official programme, in its own language. The primary years come next.

Can I print?

Every lesson, a whole chapter as a booklet, practice sheets with new questions each time, and revision sheets, with answer keys if you want them.

Who writes the lessons?

Our authors write them with the help of AI, following the official programmes and research on how people learn maths. Every exercise's answers are checked by a computer algebra system before publication. Review by teachers of each school system is under way; the French and Bavarian lessons are still drafts.

How is my data protected?

We keep the minimum, in the European Union, and delete it after 24 months of inactivity. Read the privacy notice.
